FMC Brazil Broadens Horizon for Women

A pioneering FMC project in Brazil was launched in 2005 through a partnership with Dr. Francisco Maeda University of Ituverava – “Women: Innovating for the Future” – designed exclusively for the wives, mothers and daughters of farmers. The project is centered on environmental education and social inclusion, providing new opportunities for these women.

The initiative has built strong partnerships with city halls in the region and has sponsored talks on a wide range of topics, including women’s rights, counseling on transmission of various diseases, and short courses in culinary arts, computer training and gardening.

In 2006, the program was expanded to 15 towns in the Ituverava and Jales regions of the state of Sao Paulo, reaching hundreds of rural women.

Site Security Vulnerability Analyses (SSVA)

The analysis of site security vulnerabilities is required by the ACC Security Code.  FMC developed – and had approved by CCPS (Center for Chemical Process Safety) – a site security vulnerability analysis methodology that has been applied to all FMC manufacturing sites worldwide.  Verification of SSVA actions are conducted by a local third party, to audit our continuing vigilance regarding site security.
