The Global Specialty Solutions (GSS) business leverages FMC's global agricultural technology portfolio to serve a diversified mix of non-crop segments including Golf Courses, Lawn Care, Structural Pest Control, Vegetation Management, Nursery and Ornamental, Vector and Consumer. North America is our largest geographic market, but our solutions also extend worldwide to select countries like Australia, India, Japan, Mexico and other countries in Central America. Our dedicated team includes product development scientists, regulatory specialists, sales and marketing professionals and functional supply chain and finance team members who are headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, or in local markets throughout the US and select countries worldwide.

Our growing fungicide portfolio offers golf and lawn care professionals differentiated protection through our new Rayora™ fungicide and the established Fame® brands, as well as future solutions in development and currently in the R&D pipeline. We combine key molecules in unique formulations to build a complete, comprehensive portfolio that offers speed of control, residual activity, or application flexibility with our CB® aerosols, and dual mode of action products like Transport® and Triple Crown® insecticides. Finally, FMC also manufactures indoxacarb, chlorantraniliprole and cyantraniliprole-based insecticides that are currently available through other marketers for the non-crop segments.
FMC Offers Full-Service Product Development & Regulatory Support for Consumer Solutions
While you won't find an FMC branded product on your store shelves at Home Depot, Lowes or Wal-Mart, we are the largest supplier of insecticides to the U.S. consumer marketing companies like Spectrum Brands, Central Garden & Pet, and Scotts Miracle-Gro to name a few of our customers. We research, develop, manufacture and register active ingredients into intermediate and end-use formulas that typically feature bifenthrin, zeta-cypermethrin, gamma-cyhalothrin, chlorantraniliprole, or malathion to name some key active ingredients. We also supply herbicides into this do-it-yourself (DIY) space that offer differentiated product claims to increase speed and product spectrum of control.
FMC Supports the Vector Market with Resistance Management Tools for Class-to-Class Rotation
According to the World Health Organization, "Vector-borne diseases account for an estimated 17% of the global burden of communicable diseases and claim more than 700,000 lives every year." In the United States the endemic threat of West Nile Virus (WNV), Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), and other emerging threats such as Dengue and Zika continue to shine the spotlight on limited public health tools to combat the approximate 300 North American species. For over 60 years, FMC has continued its stewardship of Fyfanon® brand insecticides for Public Health and Mosquito Abatement Professionals across the U.S. These products are effective and economical adulticides that feature malathion, which can be used strategically for both aerial and ground applications. These tools align with the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) recommendation to rotate with class-to-class products in order to maintain susceptibility to all other mosquito adulticides. Most recently, FMC launched Fyfanon® EW, which is a water-based, low-odor formulation for ground applications.

Scion® Insecticide with UVX™ Technology
Scion® Insecticide with UVX™ Technology (Gamma-cyhalothrin) was commercially launched in 2019 for the structural pest control market in the U.S. This next generation insecticide is engineered to provide immediate control and maintain a continuous 90-day residual even when exposed to harsh surfaces, high temperatures and intense sunlight. These features make Scion ideal for long service intervals, tough insect, and arachnid pests or areas that face extreme environmental conditions.
